When I was waiting for the turn at the museum reception, a woman was talking to the receptionist. The receptionist, like “Hao Hao”, poured sterming hot water from a large silver thermos into a bottle of the woman. The woman went away saying "Xie Xie".

Here in China, It seems that you can get water and hot water anywehre for free. It was the moment I felt very familiar with this country.

I have visualized and made art works that are invisible but I surely felt that through empty objects. For example, it is the mood and atomosphere of the land and exhibition space, the blowing wind, and sometimes the strong feelings of the people.

This time, Through the appearance typical Chinese cups with water, I try to express the Chengdu I felt during my stay.

People now living in Chengdu, Changless scenes of people who relax without doing anything at riversides and in parks, Chengdu cityscape that expands everywhere. I sense beyond my imagnation the length of time, size of land, the people, on the city that has been enriched by irrigation equipment that was built over 2000 years ago.
